Green Mushroom

Green Mushroom Corals (Discosoma spp.) are among the most reliably rewarding corals in the hobby. Each polyp is a smooth, circular disc that expands fully under moderate light, displaying rich shades of green – from forest to neon – that intensify beautifully under blue spectrum and actinic lighting. Mushroom corals require no supplemental feeding and thrive under low to moderate light and gentle, indirect flow, making them ideal for shaded regions of the reef where other corals would struggle. They multiply readily by splitting, gradually colonizing surrounding rock and creating lush, textured carpets. Highly tolerant of water parameter fluctuations and compatible with most reef inhabitants. An essential foundation coral for any display system.
