Trochus Snails

Trochus Snails (Trochus spp.) are among the most highly regarded herbivorous snails available for the reef cleaning crew. Their conical, top-shaped shell houses a vigorous grazer that works methodically across glass, rock, and substrate surfaces consuming film algae, diatoms, and filamentous growth with impressive efficiency. A meaningful practical advantage: Trochus Snails can right themselves when overturned, dramatically reducing the mortality from being flipped that affects turban and astrea snails. They are also longer-lived than many alternative snail species when maintained in stable water conditions. Reef safe with all corals and invertebrates. Trochus Snails will also graze on coralline algae – position them away from prized coralline growth if preservation is a priority. An excellent, durable foundation for any reef cleaning crew.
