Blue Linckia Sea Star

The Blue Linckia Sea Star (Linckia laevigata) is one of the most visually arresting echinoderms available for the reef aquarium, its five arms presenting a rich, uniform cobalt blue that stands out dramatically against sand and rock. It is an active scavenger that moves constantly across all surfaces of the aquarium – substrate, glass, rockwork – consuming detritus, film algae, and organic matter in a continuous grazing pattern that contributes to system cleanliness. Blue Linckias require mature, established reef systems with high water quality, stable parameters, and abundant microbial life on live rock for optimal long-term health. Acclimate slowly over several hours; they are extremely sensitive to salinity and temperature swings. Not compatible with Harlequin Shrimp or other seastar predators.
