Candy Cane Coral (Caulastrea furcata) is a staple of the LPS reef for good reason: it delivers reliable beauty with minimal demands. Its tubular skeleton supports large, rounded polyps striped in green, teal, and cream that extend fully during the day to cover the skeleton in a dense, flowing mat. Candy Cane Coral is among the most peaceful and compatible LPS available – it produces no significant sweeper tentacles and rarely conflicts with neighbors when given reasonable space. It thrives under moderate indirect lighting and gentle to moderate flow. Target feeding with small meaty foods 1-2 times per week encourages new head formation and steady colony growth. An excellent entry point into LPS keeping and a consistently strong performer in mature reef systems.
