Green Chromis (Chromis viridis) are the quintessential schooling fish for the reef display, their lime-green iridescent scales catching light as they move together in synchronized, open-water formations that create the natural, inhabited quality of a wild Indo-Pacific reef. Unlike most damselfish, Green Chromis are genuinely peaceful toward other fish and invertebrates, and their modest size (3 inches maximum) makes them appropriate for reef systems of 55 gallons or more. Keep in groups of five or more – odd numbers and larger groups reduce individual aggression within the school. They are micro-predators in nature, feeding primarily on zooplankton; frozen mysis and enriched brine shrimp are ideal captive diet staples. One of the most naturally beautiful and functional additions to the reef aquascape.
