Red Linckia Sea Star

The Red Linckia Sea Star (Linckia multifora) brings bold, warm color to the reef aquascape with its vivid scarlet to brick-red arms that contrast beautifully against sand, live rock, and coralline algae. An active detritivore, it moves continuously across all surfaces – glass, substrate, and rockwork – consuming film, detritus, and organic waste in a constant cleaning circuit. Like all Linckia species, it requires a mature, well-established reef system with abundant microbial life on live rock and pristine water quality. Acclimate extremely slowly – a drip acclimation period of no less than two hours is strongly recommended. Sensitive to salinity, temperature, and pH fluctuations; copper-based treatments are immediately lethal. Not compatible with Harlequin Shrimp or predatory seastar feeders.
