Colt Coral

The Colt Coral (Cladiella spp.) is among the most kinetic corals in the hobby – its soft, branching arms flex and reach constantly in even moderate flow, giving the aquascape a sense of life and movement. Coloration ranges from cream and tan to pale green, and under quality lighting the polyps take on a luminous quality that elevates surrounding specimens. Colt Corals are exceptionally hardy and fast-growing, making them a rewarding addition for collectors at any level. They prefer moderate to strong, indirect flow and mid-range lighting. Note that this coral produces notable mucus and chemical compounds; adequate space between it and LPS or SPS neighbors is recommended. A proven workhorse of the reef display.
